About the role#
As an Operations Management Intern at Pierce Manufacturing, you will support the operations department in Appleton, Wisconsin. You will work alongside supervisors to resolve tasks, support production management, and contribute to the manufacturing process for fire and emergency vehicles.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the direct activities of production management personnel.
- Participate in daily production meetings.
- Introduce and implement lean manufacturing techniques to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Use value stream mapping to analyze material flow and eliminate waste.
- Support continuous improvement events and 5S initiatives.
- Help ensure the quality and accuracy of customer order fulfillment.
- Promote the growth of ISO procedures and standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Operations Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to commit to the internship for the entire duration.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Appleton, Wisconsin.
