About the role#
This internship with the Digitalization and Transformation team at Volvo Group North America focuses on using data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies to improve supply chain design. You will work on real transport and logistics solutions while collaborating with a team to build professional relationships and gain hands-on experience in areas like finance, carrier management, and data analytics.
What you'll do#
- Apply process mining and data analytics to identify opportunities, improve processes, and support fact-based decision-making in supply chain projects.
- Work with supply chain stakeholders to develop solutions using AI, analytics, and automation tools.
- Adapt basic Lean principles to an office environment to boost value chain efficiency, sustainability, quality, and cost performance.
- Take part in forums with internal and external stakeholders to foster constructive feedback and communicate clearly.
- Align expectations, coordinate deliverables, and understand how each part of the value chain contributes to shared outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science at an accredited institution.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours before the internship begins.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Interest in supply chain, logistics, process improvement, and digitalization.
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Familiarity with data management, the Azure tool stack, and process mining tools.
- A curious, self-motivated, and proactive approach with a willingness to learn and share knowledge.

- Compensation: Paid position with an hourly range of $17.00 to $46.00, depending on factors including academic classification and degree area.
