About the role#
As an Inventory Planning & Replenishment Intern, you will work on building a Root Cause Engine to analyze inventory data. This platform aims to identify why performance issues occur rather than just tracking what happened. You will join a cohort of interns and contribute to projects that support business priorities, culminating in a presentation to senior leaders. This program offers opportunities for professional development and direct exposure to company leadership.
What you'll do#
- Monitor key performance indicators including fill rate, in-stock percentage, backorders, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, and excess inventory.
- Identify performance issues by applying rules-based analytics and machine learning.
- Categorize root causes such as supplier constraints, forecast error, replenishment parameter issues, network imbalances, assortment gaps, or execution failures.
- Create an interactive dashboard that ranks service and inventory opportunities and recommends corrective actions.
- Support the modernization of reporting and analytics capabilities by moving toward predictive and prescriptive decision support.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience with data analysis tools including SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, AI, and Excel.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- A 3.25 GPA or above is preferred.
- Strong analytical aptitude and leadership skills.
- Ability to embody company values, communicate effectively, and focus on customer success.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 10-week, on-site internship based in Atlanta, Georgia.
- The program runs from May 24 to July 30, 2027.
- The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
