About the role#
As a Controls Engineering Intern, you will work with the Electrical and Controls Team to support the development of electric-over-hydraulic control systems. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the construction, installation, and testing of these systems. This role requires a mix of office-based administrative work and physical tasks on the shop floor.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the construction, installation, operation, maintenance, and testing of control systems.
- Write systems requirements and documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical control process and component issues.
- Debug instrumentation and controls.
- Support the start-up and qualification of control systems on new equipment.
- Execute projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Follow and enforce shop safety practices.
- Maintain clear communication with internal and external customers.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience or ability to build and install wire harnesses.
- Ability to follow written test procedures.
- Ability to learn and operate a Digital-Multimeter (DMM).
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
