About the role#
The Community Outreach Assistantship is a temporary, full-time position based in Miami Lakes. You will support the Community Outreach department by managing daily administrative tasks and helping coordinate various programs and events. This role requires on-site attendance and a flexible schedule to accommodate events held during the day, evening, on weekends, and on holidays.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and execution of community programs and events.
- Manage administrative duties including purchase orders, database updates, and processing scholarship or contest applications.
- Support the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA) by collecting park insurance, registration cards, and organizing databases.
- Help coordinate and attend OBYFA events, such as youth football clinics, cheer camps, and the Park of the Week program.
- Assist with the Orange Bowl Leadership Academy (OBLA) by ordering supplies, scheduling guest speakers, and coordinating field trips.
- Gather statistics for showcases involving Florida high school football, basketball, and girls flag football.
- Attend internal and external meetings and record minutes.
- Support game promotions during the Capital One Orange Bowl.
- Research new ways to promote high school showcases and assist with event planning.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of PowerPoint is a plus.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- A professional attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Prior experience in a related field is preferred.
