About the role#
The Autonomous Systems and Physical AI Research group focuses on building intelligent machines that perceive, reason, and interact with the physical world. We explore fundamental research challenges in robotics and autonomous vehicles, including closed-loop training, embodied reasoning, and safety-critical AI. This role offers the opportunity to conduct original research and influence real-world products while working alongside experts in perception, simulation, and machine learning.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement new techniques for autonomous vehicles, robotics, and physical AI.
- Conduct original research and publish your findings.
- Collaborate with research colleagues, external researchers, and internal product teams.
- Transfer developed technology to relevant product groups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Research experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, embodied AI, or autonomous systems.
- Strong knowledge of the theory and practice of vehicle or robot autonomy.
- A track record of research excellence demonstrated through publications at leading conferences and journals.
- Exceptional Python programming skills.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with C++ and parallel programming such as CUDA is a plus.

- Compensation: 38 USD to 94 USD per hour, depending on experience and education.
