About the role#
The Security Intern will work with the ITOPS department to identify, classify, and report security vulnerabilities. You will gain hands-on experience by participating in security operations, managing event log data, and supporting the PCI DSS Sustainability Program. This position offers a chance to explore information security practices within a corporate telecommunications environment.
What you'll do#
- Identify and report security vulnerabilities.
- Collect and normalize security event log data.
- Create alerts, responses, and reports based on incident risk.
- Collaborate with IT teams to maintain PCI DSS compliance.
- Review and update security policies and procedures.
- Participate in incident response activities.
- Prepare security metrics and reports.
- Support the development of security awareness training.
- Conduct security risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts under supervision.
- Integrate security best practices across departments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking, infrastructure, and application technologies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, ethical hacking, and red teaming practices.
- Knowledge of O365 administration and telecommunications regulations such as CPNI.
- Understanding of DHCP, EDR, XDR, Microsoft Graph API, and Microsoft Entra ID Protection.
- Awareness of data anonymization tools and vulnerability scanning techniques.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to changing environments.
