About the role#
This Computer Software Engineering Co-op position is based in the Robotics and Automation business unit at Novanta Inc. You will work on-site in Apex, North Carolina, supporting the development of robotic end-of-arm technologies.
What you'll do#
- Design, write, and test software used to calibrate and test industrial robot tooling.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures.
- Create clear test instructions for hardware and software systems.
- Work with Windows software written in .NET languages, with potential exposure to microcontroller firmware using Assembly or C programming.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, with .NET experience considered a plus.
- Interest in learning basic digital electronic hardware concepts.
- Ability to communicate technical information to various audiences.
- Must be a US citizen or green card holder.
- Dependable transportation for on-site work.
- Preferred skills include knowledge of TCP/IP networking, basic Assembly language, and C or C++ experience.
