About the role#
Novanta is seeking a Supply Chain Intern to join the Motors business unit in Rocklin, California. This role offers hands-on experience with daily purchasing, planning, and supply chain operations. You will support procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier performance tracking while working alongside cross-functional teams.
What you'll do#
- Support non-inventory purchasing and track deliveries.
- Assist with vendor setup procedures.
- Track supplier performance metrics including on-time delivery, lead time, and responsiveness.
- Analyze costs and spending for electronic components and PCBA.
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and consumption trends.
- Review demand versus supply through Material Requirements Planning (MRP) analysis.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
- Contribute to process improvements focused on efficiency and cost reduction.
- Collect data and report on supply chain metrics.
- Assist with special projects and other initiatives as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of supply chain concepts like planning, purchasing, and logistics.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Good communication skills in English.
