About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineering Test Intern to join our Core Engineering team for the Summer 2027 term. This role focuses on building automated test infrastructure for power management and monitoring hardware. You will write code to validate firmware behavior and use Generative AI tools to improve test development workflows.
What you'll do#
- Write and maintain automated test cases in Python to validate firmware across protocols like Redfish, SNMP, Modbus, and BACnet.
- Build API-level test automation for Redfish and REST interfaces.
- Integrate tests into GitLab CI pipelines to support firmware validation.
- Configure virtualized test environments for repeatable execution.
- Develop test utilities, data parsers, and reporting scripts.
- Use Generative AI coding tools for test development and code reviews.
- Practice Agile development methods for planning and execution.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Python or another scripting language through coursework or projects.
- Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented work ethic.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with version control like Git is a plus.
- Exposure to REST APIs, CI/CD concepts, or Linux command-line environments is a plus.
