About the role#
As a College Financial Representative, you will build a financial planning practice from the ground up. You will learn to manage your own business while receiving guidance from local and nationwide experts. This program is designed to help you grow your professional network and develop skills that apply to your future career.
What you'll do#
- Prospect and network to build your client base.
- Develop and execute a business strategy.
- Call on potential clients to set meetings and understand their financial goals.
- Prepare financial plans and offer recommendations.
- Use proprietary planning software platforms.
- Attend weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
- Obtain Risk Product State Licensing for Life, Accident, and Health.
- Build practical life skills.
What you'll need#
- You must be a full-time student, with juniors and seniors preferred.
- We look for entrepreneurial ambition and a curiosity for sales.
- Strong time-management skills are necessary.
- You should be highly involved on campus, such as in student government, athletics, or other organizations.
- An interest in financial literacy and planning tools is important.
- You should be business savvy and interested in increasing your critical thinking abilities.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Bismarck, North Dakota.
- The position is on-site.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
- Compensation is performance-based, including commissions and productivity bonuses.
- The program provides support for insurance licensing and professional registrations such as the SIE, Series 6, and Series 63.
