About the role#
This internship with the Aeronautics Systems Sector focuses on systems engineering related to nuclear survivability and ionizing radiation. You will join the Systems Engineering directorate to build technical skills across areas such as requirements engineering, modeling and simulation, and systems architecture.
What you'll do#
- Perform systems engineering tasks across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept and design to fabrication, testing, and maintenance.
- Coordinate with software, hardware, test, and quality teams to integrate engineering efforts.
- Systematically integrate, assemble, and verify lower-level components into higher-level systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Aerospace, Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Systems Engineering.
- Graduation date after August 2026.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Experience leading small groups and delivering presentations.
- Experience working on full lifecycle engineering or business projects.
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher is preferred.
