About the role#
Northrop Grumman is hiring a Cyber Systems Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. This role is based in Tampa, Florida, and requires on-site work. You will join the Mission Systems sector to support defensive and offensive cybersecurity initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Identify and exploit system or network vulnerabilities using penetration testing and red teaming techniques.
- Maintain network performance and uptime.
- Perform threat detection, analysis, and incident response.
- Develop Python scripts to automate LLM prompting workflows.
- Write Python scripts for multithreaded data parsing and digital asset management.
- Build a cryptography management platform using Python, PowerShell, and GPG.
What you'll need#
- You must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate STEM degree program, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher is required.
- You must be available to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- You must hold a Top Secret Clearance to start.
- You must be a U.S. citizen to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance.
