About the role#
Northmarq is hiring a Software Engineering Intern for our Information Technology department. You will work within a scrum team to learn software engineering practices while contributing to our engineering efforts. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in our Minneapolis headquarters. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in an office environment.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop test automation suites for various applications.
- Evaluate test automation execution runs and maintain test cases based on results.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for web services, databases, applications, and tools.
- Write readable, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Collaborate with team members on best practices, code reviews, internal tools, and process improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation for software, processes, and procedures.
- Work on a primary summer project involving software development.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or management information systems.
- Experience in object-oriented programming such as C#, Java, or C++.
- Familiarity with web technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and ReactJS.
- Understanding of programming and database concepts.
- Ability to work in-person at the Minneapolis headquarters office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
