About the role#
As a Recreation Entertainment Intern at Nemacolin, you will gain hands-on experience in a luxury resort environment. You will work alongside recreation professionals to facilitate programming and engage with guests across the resort. This is a full-time, paid, 12-week internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create energetic poolside experiences and facilitate interactive entertainment.
- Develop and lead recreational programming, including gameshow-style events.
- Collaborate with the Membership Team to host exclusive events for members.
- Operate various recreational offerings, such as cosmic bowling, axe throwing, the ropes course, the indoor gymnasium, and virtual reality simulations.
- Complete an experiential project based on an internship-specific learning objective.
- Engage directly with guests and members to build communication and hospitality skills.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor degree program in parks and recreation, hospitality management, sports management, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA, with upperclassman status preferred.
- Previous experience in recreation or customer service is preferred.
- Commitment to a consecutive 12-week internship.
- Fluency in English and strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time.
- Continuous authorization to work in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
