About the role#
The Power BI & Analytics Intern will join the Business Intelligence & Systems (BIS) team to build, maintain, and optimize data visualizations. This role supports internal stakeholders across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, quality, and operations by providing actionable business insights. You will work directly with the BIS team to gain experience in data visualization, business analysis, and ETL development. Working hours are set based on your class schedule and must remain consistent throughout the term.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
- Clean, transform, and analyze large datasets from sources including SQL Server, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Collaborate with business units, IT, and BIS team members to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Develop data models using star schema, create DAX measures, and define standardized business metrics.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting to ensure report accuracy.
- Document datasets, business logic, transformations, and internal processes.
- Manage tasks and track progress using Jira and maintain documentation in SharePoint.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Service, including data modeling, report creation, and basic DAX.
- Basic knowledge of SQL Server with the ability to write SELECT queries, joins, filters, and aggregations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and Power Query.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint for document management and collaboration.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar work management tools.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and effective communication skills.
