    About the role#

    This rotating small animal internship at Mission Veterinary Emergency and Specialty focuses on internal medicine, surgery, critical care, emergency medicine, cardiology, oncology, anesthesiology, and neurology. You will work alongside specialists in these fields and over 15 emergency doctors in a 24-hour critical care and referral hospital. The program is designed for those who enjoy learning and practicing medicine with specialist support.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage primary cases with supervision from specialists.
    • Handle emergency case stabilization and management with support from experienced ER doctors.
    • Interact directly with specialists regarding referral cases.
    • Participate in weekly critical care rounds and optional surgery rounds.
    • Construct and present a one-hour continuing education lecture on a topic of your choice.

    What you'll need#

    • A DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
    • Ability to obtain a Kansas veterinary medical license.
    • An excellent work ethic and enthusiasm for the field.
    • Authorization to work in the United States.

    • Employment: Full-time internship.
    • Compensation: $45,000 annual salary.
