About the role#
Danville Family Vet is looking for a DVM or VMD student to join their AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Danville, Virginia. This externship provides hands-on experience in a practice that emphasizes mentorship and collaborative patient care. You will work alongside experienced veterinary professionals in a setting known for expertise in dentistry and behavioral medicine.
What you'll do#
- Perform physical exams, conduct diagnostic workups, and create treatment plans.
- Prescribe and administer vaccines, drugs, and various therapies.
- Carry out surgical procedures, dental work, and other clinical treatments.
- Document medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Explain diagnoses and home care instructions to pet owners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Active pursuit of a VMD or DVM degree.
