About the role#
Lancaster Veterinary Specialties offers a clinical externship for students currently pursuing a DVM or VMD degree. This position provides exposure to a specialty practice environment in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians in a facility equipped with in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and ultrasound. This is a paid externship with a stipend provided to help offset housing and travel costs.
What you'll do#
- Perform specialized procedures for the local area.
- Assist with cases in cardiology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, oncology, radiology, and surgery.
- Engage in training and collaborative work within the practice.
- Participate in mentorship programs with experienced veterinary staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary school.
- Interest in working within a collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to receive mentorship from experienced veterinarians.
- Ability to work effectively in a state of the art facility.
