About the role#
The Massachusetts Equine Clinic is a four-doctor ambulatory practice. We serve a variety of equine disciplines across New England. This internship provides a comprehensive experience in equine medicine to build clinical expertise and confidence. You will work alongside doctors with over sixty years of combined experience who provide mentorship in a supportive environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide wellness and preventative care to horses.
- Manage sports medicine and lameness cases.
- Perform emergency medicine and wound management.
- Conduct field surgery and administer anesthesia.
- Handle client communication and practice management.
- Use diagnostic tools like digital radiography, ultrasounds, and gastroscopes.
- Gain experience with therapies such as Pro-Stride, IRAP, and Alpha 2EQ.
- Develop skills in power-floating, suturing, and colic workups.
What you'll need#
- Completion of a veterinary degree.
- Interest in pursuing equine general practice.
- Professional and compassionate approach to animal care.
