Student Employment Program

About the role#

The National Research Council Canada offers students practical career-related experience across a variety of fields including research and development, engineering, technology, computer science, business, finance, and human resources. Students work in an intellectually stimulating environment with access to unique, specialized equipment and facilities. This program is designed to help students grow professionally while contributing to projects of value to Canada.

What you'll do#

• Gain experience working on leading-edge projects.
• Collaborate across multiple fields with experts in an inspiring environment.
• Contribute to research, development, engineering, and technology initiatives.
• Work full-time during non-academic semesters or part-time during academic semesters.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or grade 12 equivalent.
• Minimum 'B' academic average or equivalent.
• Current enrollment at a recognized Canadian educational institution with plans to return to full-time studies the following semester.
• Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
• Ability to obtain Reliability Status, which requires a 5-year background verification.
• Academic background in fields such as Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Communications, Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics.

Location & details#

• Locations: Various sites across Canada, including Ontario.
• Duration: Approximately 16 weeks (4 months).
• Work Modality: Hybrid. Employees may be required to work onsite at least three times per week or a minimum of 60% of their regular schedule.
• Compensation: $664 to $1436 per week based on completed academic semesters.
• Hiring Process: Rolling applications throughout the year.
