Anthropic Fellows Program

About the role#

The Anthropic Fellows Program is a 4-month, full-time research initiative designed to foster technical talent in AI safety and engineering. Fellows work on empirical projects aligned with the company's research priorities, utilizing external infrastructure such as open-source models and public APIs. The program includes direct mentorship from Anthropic researchers, access to shared workspaces, and integration into the broader AI safety and security research community. The goal of the program is to produce a public output, such as a paper submission.

What you'll do#

• Conduct full-time research for a duration of 4 months.
• Collaborate with researchers in shared workspaces.
• Participate in a project selection and mentor matching process.
• Engage with the AI safety and security research community.
• Produce a public output, such as a paper submission.
• Work across various streams including AI Safety, AI Security, ML Systems & Performance, and Reinforcement Learning.

What you'll need#

• Fluency in Python programming.
• A strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, or physics.
• Motivation to ensure AI is safe and beneficial for society.
• Ability to implement ideas quickly.
• Experience with empirical ML research projects.
• Academic or professional background in fields such as Data Science, Economics, Cybersecurity, Sociology, or Human Resources may be relevant depending on the specific workstream.
