About the role#
The Conservation Ranching (ACR) Intern will work with the California ACR team to support bird conservation efforts on private lands. This role offers exposure to rangeland management, regenerative agriculture, and community outreach. You will assist with technical work, data collection, and public engagement while gaining experience in program coordination. This is a paid, part-time position working 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate logistics for outreach events, presentations, and stakeholder meetings.
- Use blogs, social media, and digital platforms to share the ACR message.
- Support the team with data collection, surveys, and the preparation of reports.
- Conduct field assignments, including site visits to project locations.
- Assist with various administrative and programmatic tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Completed college-level coursework in communications, agriculture, conservation, ecology, or natural resources management.
- Comfort with public speaking to groups of varying sizes.
- Proficiency with basic Microsoft computer programs.
- A current driver’s license or state-issued ID.
- Experience with GIS is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and comfort with potential field work in variable conditions.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Modality: Hybrid with frequent travel to the Sacramento office and occasional travel throughout California.
- Term: October 15, 2026, through March 14, 2027.
- Compensation: $23.68 per hour.
