About the role#
The Manufacturing Strategy, Business Development and Alliances (MSBDA) group manages the strategic portfolio and core enterprise functions for the manufacturing division. This internship provides hands-on experience in project management, change management, and cross-functional collaboration. Interns will complete one or more projects over a 10 to 12-week period, gaining insight into pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and business development.
What you'll do#
- Support project management and business realization initiatives led by the MSBDA team.
- Assist in creating strategies that align with stakeholder business requirements.
- Help develop pre-negotiation plans, support negotiation sessions, and perform post-negotiation analysis.
- Manage contracts and commitments to ensure compliance and appropriate terms.
- Use data analytics and visualization tools to identify spend trends and generate actionable insights.
- Evaluate emerging digital technologies and artificial intelligence solutions to optimize workflows.
- Follow project management processes to support sourcing and cross-functional projects.
- Produce high-quality work and share best practices across teams and regions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a minimum of a BS in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Packaging.
- Availability for 10-12 weeks starting in June 2027.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- A digital-first mindset with interest or experience in Generative AI, AI productivity tools, or automated business workflows.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Personal integrity and ethical standards.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or animal health industry, or a Fortune 500 company, is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time summer 2027 internship.
- The role is based in West Point, Pennsylvania, or Rahway, New Jersey.
- This position follows a hybrid work modality.
- Visa sponsorship is not provided for this role.
