About the role#
As a People Department intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the programs and culture that shape the workplace at Monteith Construction. You will work alongside the team on various initiatives, including recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement. This is a part-time, hourly position based in our Wilmington office, with an expected schedule of 15 to 25 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Support recruiting tasks such as job postings, candidate communication, interview coordination, and career fair preparation.
- Assist with new hire onboarding to create a welcoming experience for new employees.
- Support employee engagement, recognition, and company culture initiatives.
- Gain exposure to benefits administration, employee records, HR systems, and daily HR operations.
- Help maintain accurate employee information, documentation, and department resources.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to learn, understand, and explain company policies, procedures, and relevant state or federal laws.
- A commitment to keeping all company information and materials confidential.

- This is an on-site, part-time, and paid internship.
