About the role#
Join the Sustainability and Procurement team at Momentive to help advance our 2030 Scope 3 emissions reduction goals. You will analyze supplier data, evaluate sustainability performance, and develop strategies to reduce supply chain emissions. This internship is open to students in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
What you'll do#
- Analyze purchased-goods emissions by raw material, supplier, business segment, region, and spend.
- Identify the suppliers responsible for the largest share of Category 1 emissions.
- Assess supplier sustainability maturity based on factors like climate targets, renewable energy use, and recycled or bio-based alternatives.
- Create a supplier segmentation model to categorize suppliers for engagement, development, substitution, or monitoring.
- Develop sustainability questions and scoring criteria for RFQs, supplier reviews, and sourcing decisions.
- Identify 5-10 supplier engagement opportunities and estimate potential emissions reduction, cost premiums, feasibility, and timelines.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising senior in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering.
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, with at least one semester remaining after the internship concludes.
- Technical knowledge of environmental science.
- Strong data analysis and analytical skills.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks between May and August 2027.
