About the role#
As a Sustainability Intern, you will support strategic initiatives by analyzing environmental performance data and developing sustainability communications. You will help advance projects that create environmental, operational, and business value. This role reports to the Sustainability and Strategic Initiatives Manager.
What you'll do#
- Manage the collection, maintenance, and automation of data regarding energy, greenhouse gas emissions, water, and waste performance.
- Assist in preparing sustainability reporting content by collecting data and creating visual summaries for stakeholders.
- Develop business cases for sustainability projects, including financial analysis, grant applications, utility incentives, and return-on-investment evaluations.
- Research industry trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and peer benchmarking to support continuous improvement.
- Analyze system performance to identify opportunities for resource efficiency.
- Collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Commercial teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once and work independently.
- Strong presentation and leadership skills.
