About the role#
The Facilities Intern will support the Technology team at our Waterford and Niskayuna sites. You will assist with maintenance activities and capital project implementation while driving process improvements and cost control initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Identify and implement improvements for waste collection, management, and reduction processes.
- Participate in an Exposure Reduction team focused on waste management.
- Lead portions of small and mid-size capital expenditure projects, including lab lighting upgrades, roof repairs, HVAC reliability, and equipment installation.
- Plan and facilitate the safety governance council.
- Review and update the chemical hygiene plan.
- Assist with preparations for ISO audits.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program.
- Availability for at least one semester following the internship.
- Technical and mechanical aptitude for solving problems in industrial and laboratory settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with effective time management.

- Compensation: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour.
