About the role#
As an Assurance and Accounting Intern, you will join our team to provide tailored financial information and support to a diverse range of clients. This role focuses on helping clients make informed decisions by providing comprehensive financial reporting and advisory services.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to summarize client status.
- Conduct walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Investigate, review, and correct financial entries, reports, and documentation.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and build professional relationships with client contacts.
- Set up files for new clients and businesses while managing multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence outlining engagement findings.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards to client work.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous office experience in an accounting environment is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is an asset.

- Compensation: This position is paid with an annual salary of $46,000.
