About the role#
MNP is looking for a Co-op Accountant to join the Assurance and Accounting team for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in Cornwall, Ontario. You will work directly with our team to help clients manage their financial reporting and business needs.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to summarize client status.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and documentation.
- Set up charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
- Assist with file management and conduct inventory counts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward meeting prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Office experience in an accounting role is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
