About the role#
MKS Inc. is looking for an Engineering/Development Intern to join our team in Richmond, BC. You will report to the Principal Optical Engineer and assist in the development of new technologies and products. This is a full-time, on-site position for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and analyze experiments to evaluate precision temperature and position sensing technology.
- Design, simulate, build, and validate new test equipment.
- Set up and calibrate optical and thermal characterization tools.
- Create and maintain test documentation, such as plans, procedures, and reports.
- Use statistical analysis software to interpret data and form conclusions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A systematic approach to interpreting data with high attention to detail.
- Comfort working with hardware, lab equipment, and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Programming experience, such as Python, LabView, or MATLAB.
