About the role#
This internship provides experience within the Operations Division at Mizuho. You will work within one assigned team while interacting with members across the platform to understand how operations supports our business lines. This is a full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
You will be assigned to one of the following functional areas based on business needs:
- Client Management: Handle client onboarding, referential data, and KYC verifications.
- Collateral Operations: Manage margin call processing, counterparty risk, and portfolio reconciliations.
- Derivatives Operations: Provide middle office support, handle settlements, regulatory reporting, and confirmations.
- Securities Settlements: Cover equity and fixed income, corporate actions, reconciliations, and custody services.
- Banking Operations: Support loan administration, letters of credit, credit facility management, trade finance, payment and deposit settlements, reconciliations, and leasing.
What you'll need#
- Expected graduation date of May 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and macros.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas and work well within a team.
- High attention to detail and a willingness to learn quickly.

- Compensation: $35 per hour.
