    About the role#

    Join MiniMed for a summer internship where you will do meaningful work, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to our mission of supporting people living with diabetes. This is a full-time, paid internship lasting 10 to 11 weeks during the summer of 2027. You will be part of a collaborative intern community, build your professional network, and participate in educational and social programming. Interns support various business areas based on their background and company needs.

    What you'll do#

    Depending on your assigned team, you may contribute to projects including:

    • Mechanical/Industrial Engineering: Process improvement, operational efficiency, capacity planning, workflow analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma projects, production data analysis, and cost reduction.
    • Automation Engineering: Equipment reliability, uptime improvement, automation troubleshooting, controls optimization, digitalization, and technical knowledge management.
    • Process Engineering: Performance, yield and productivity improvements, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, process monitoring, and standard work development.
    • Chemical Engineering: Material evaluation and characterization, electrochemical testing, experimental design, and sensor performance data collection.
    • Software/Systems Engineering: Software and system performance improvements, process automation, tool development, application support, and data management or analytics.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor's program for Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • An anticipated graduation date in Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029.
    • Current authorization to work in the United States. Please note that we do not provide sponsorship for this internship.
    • A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is preferred.
    • Experience or knowledge in areas such as Python, SQL, Power Query, Minitab, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C/C++, C#, Java, Microsoft Access, Visual Studio, CAD software, Raspberry Pi, or DMAIC/Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Prior experience working on team projects, academic labs, or previous internships.
    • Strong technical writing skills and experience with data analysis or design.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Juncos, Puerto Rico. All interns must reside in Puerto Rico for the duration of the program.
    • Work Model: This position is full-time (40 hours per week). You will work on-site three days per week, with the remaining days remote.
