About the role#
Milliman is seeking interns for our Employee Benefits Consulting practice for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, 10-week program running from June 1st through August 5th. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in the actuarial field and contribute to projects involving retirement funding, healthcare financing, and risk management.
What you'll do#
- Prepare basic actuarial calculations, government form filings, and other client deliverables.
- Perform data analysis using Excel and proprietary Milliman programs.
- Reconcile claims data and support postretirement health valuations.
- Collaborate with project teams, including consultants and analysts, to deliver reports.
- Support senior staff on a variety of client projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Rising seniors are recommended, though rising juniors may apply.
- Experience with spreadsheets, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate integrity in all work functions.
- Residence within 50 miles of one of our office locations.
Location & details#
- Locations: Little Falls Twp, NJ; Portland, OR; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA.
- Work modality: This is an on-site role requiring attendance at the office at least two days per week.
- Compensation: $21.00 - $46.00 per hour, based on factors including education, experience, and location.
- Benefits: Eligible interns earn paid time off, access to an employee assistance program, and pre-tax transit savings. 401(k) eligibility begins after 1,000 hours worked within 12 consecutive months.
