About the role#
Milliman’s Atlantic Region Property and Casualty practice provides actuarial consulting services for insurance, reinsurance, and alternative-risk markets. We work with a diverse set of clients including self-insured corporations, commercial insurance companies, and governmental agencies. This full-time role begins in either winter or summer 2027. You will work autonomously and with team members to support project goals. We are committed to developing actuarial talent through exam support and interaction with senior colleagues.
What you'll do#
- Execute key analyses for ongoing projects.
- Produce high-quality analytical work.
- Perform complex data manipulation and summarization in Excel.
- Pursue credentials with the Casualty Actuarial Society by taking and passing actuarial examinations.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of two actuarial exams passed.
- Up to two years of professional actuarial full-time work experience.
- Proficiency with Excel and Word.
- Expertise with statistical and modeling tools such as R, @Risk, VBA, Python, SAS, or STATA.
- Strong critical thinking, technical, and analytical skills.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to clearly articulate questions and ideas.
- Preferred: Three or more passed actuarial exams on the CAS credentialing track.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of Access and PowerPoint.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Wakefield, Massachusetts, or Burlington, Vermont.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- This position is paid.
