About the role#
The Technology Support, Emerging Talent Intern will work within the Elevators and Escalators Division of the New York City Transit Department of Subways. This role focuses on improving operational efficiency by building digital tools and streamlining data workflows for the team that maintains hundreds of elevators and escalators across the subway system.
What you'll do#
- Develop and publish content for the departmental SharePoint site.
- Design and build forms, dashboards, and data visualizations to track project metrics.
- Create automated reporting systems using Power Automate.
- Design workflows to collect, process, and distribute data to reduce manual tasks.
- Integrate Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate with existing databases.
- Update operational procedures and technical documentation.
- Conduct training sessions for maintainers and supervisors.
- Prepare presentations for management and senior leadership.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Preferred majors include Computer Science, Business Administration, Architecture, or Data Science.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
