About the role#
Metallus Inc. is hiring a Health & Safety Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Canton, Ohio. You will work within our manufacturing environment to support safety initiatives and gain practical experience in the field.
What you'll do#
- Assist with safety audits, inspections, and field observations.
- Support the review of incident, near-miss, and hazard reports.
- Maintain safety documentation, training records, and data tracking.
- Participate in safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and meetings.
- Assist with the development of safety communications and materials.
- Help with Emergency Action Plan improvements and reviews.
- Support the review and validation of Job Safety Analysis.
- Provide support to Plant Safety Leads and assist with special safety projects.
What you'll need#
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester.
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Preferred majors include Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Human Resources, Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields.
