About the role#
This is an 11-week paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You will work on-site to support Meijer’s sponsorship partnerships, promotional campaigns, and corporate giving programs. The role includes a meaningful project focused on strategic planning and measurable results, culminating in a presentation to senior executives.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to partnership negotiations, contract administration, and activation execution.
- Participate in on-site partnership and market visits.
- Support seasonal Back-to-College and Tailgating initiatives.
- Assist in managing vendor-supported sponsorships and community investment opportunities.
- Research ways to increase sponsorship in key sports categories and geographies.
- Develop a playbook to drive community sponsorship opportunities.
- Recommend strategies to maximize participation in the Simply Give program.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Merchandising, Legal, and Operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event or Experiential Marketing, Communications, Corporate Philanthropy, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot, and Teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working effectively within a team to build alignment and support shared goals.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A focus on meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
