About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Northbrook, Illinois. You will work directly with rotational engineers on projects assigned by management to improve warehouse operations. This role focuses on hands-on tasks such as process improvements, work measurements, and cost-benefit analysis. Projects vary in length from daily activities to larger assignments that span the full 10-week program.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and correct bottlenecks within Medline warehouses.
- Create and implement new operational standards.
- Slot warehouses to improve travel time per line.
- Improve cubic utilization within the warehouse facilities.
- Provide on-site support during technology and robotics go-lives.
What you'll need#
- Junior standing in an undergraduate program.
- Background in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- A 3.0 minimum GPA is preferred.
- Unrestricted permanent US work authorization.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles is a plus.
