About the role#
McKee Foods Corporation is seeking a Retail & Operations Intern to join the Bakery Store and Retail team in Collegedale, Tennessee. This role supports the business across multiple areas, including retail floor operations and bakery store management. You will work with leadership to gain experience in business operations, social media strategy, and event coordination.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the transition of sales reporting systems from Excel to Google Sheets and maintain weekly reports.
- Learn and execute inventory controls, stock transfers, and cash register audits.
- Manage inventory ordering and replenishment processes while organizing merchandise.
- Collaborate with the Bakery Store Manager to design and implement scannable tags to speed up customer checkout.
- Brainstorm and design product ideas aimed at a younger demographic.
- Create content for Facebook and TikTok while coordinating the promotional calendar.
- Design flyers and digital images to build awareness for store promotions.
- Execute in-store merchandising for promotional displays.
- Provide logistical and operational support for the Bakery Store's involvement in the annual sales conference.
- Collaborate with other company departments to support organizational objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- A creative mindset with an understanding of current social media trends, specifically TikTok.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail regarding inventory management.
- The ability to work effectively within a team and perform with minimal supervision.
- A high level of initiative, assertiveness, and self-direction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A strong desire to learn quickly and develop new skills.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Collegedale, Tennessee (On-site).
- Schedule: 20 hours per week during the school year, up to 40 hours during summer and breaks.
- Shift: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- This is a paid internship.
