About the role#
The Board Product Engineering team develops and implements manufacturing strategies for hardware across various business units. This internship provides hands-on experience with new product introduction, board assembly, manufacturing test, and product readiness. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support prototype and pre-production hardware builds.
What you'll do#
- Support board-level product engineering activities for prototype and pre-production hardware builds.
- Assist with tracking engineering build milestones, action items, risks, and readiness status.
- Collect, organize, and summarize data from board assembly, inspection, manufacturing test, and validation activities.
- Document build issues, failure symptoms, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
- Collaborate with hardware design, operations, test engineering, quality, reliability, and supply chain teams to support new product introduction execution.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Basic understanding of hardware products, printed circuit boards, electronics manufacturing, or product development processes.
- Coursework or project experience in electronics, circuits, embedded systems, manufacturing, or mechanical design.
- Ability to organize technical information, summarize data, and communicate clearly.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, basic scripting, lab equipment, and CAD tools.
- Strong attention to detail, good documentation habits, and basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and learn from engineers across multiple disciplines.
