About the role#
As an Analog Layout Intern, you will join the Central Engineering group. This team provides IP to business units across automotive, storage, security, and networking. You will work with colleagues in the United States, Argentina, Singapore, and Europe. You will contribute to real products and tapeouts while learning about analog layout on advanced semiconductor technologies.
What you'll do#
- Translate analog IC schematics into physical layout using Cadence Virtuoso.
- Run physical verification flows including DRC, LVS, and other checks to ensure design integrity.
- Collaborate with Analog IC Designers to refine, debug, and iterate on layouts.
- Participate in team meetings and project reviews.
- Present progress updates and technical findings to cross-functional global teams.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation semiconductor IP across advanced process nodes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Fundamental understanding of electrical engineering concepts, specifically analog circuit theory and microelectronics.
- Coursework or hands-on experience in analog design, IC layout, or VLSI design.
- Familiarity with CAD tools like Cadence Virtuoso or Calibre.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
- Experience with physical verification flows including DRC, LVS, ERC, or antenna checks is preferred.
- Exposure to advanced process nodes like FinFET, 3nm, or 2nm is a plus.
- Ability to use scripting languages such as SKILL, Python, or Tcl for layout automation.
- Ability to work independently across multiple concurrent projects.
