About the role#
This is a 7-month co-op program spanning the summer and fall of 2027. You will work on real-world projects within the Mars Snacking division, gaining hands-on experience in packaging engineering. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago.
What you'll do#
- Lead and execute packaging innovation projects under the guidance of experienced associates.
- Support goals related to value leadership and cost savings.
- Develop detailed packaging specifications to ensure quality and value across facilities, co-packers, and co-manufacturers.
- Complete sustainability assignments to help meet company goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, equipment engineering, activity management, finance, and industrial engineering.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, preferably in Packaging Engineering.
- A drive for results and a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to build relationships quickly.
- Passion for packaging and the consumer products industry.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
- Personal transportation to and from the work site.
