About the role#
UTLX Manufacturing LLC is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant for a part-time Co-Op position in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role supports the Accounting Specialist and Plant Controller with daily financial tasks and document management. You will work 20 hours per week, with a schedule designed to accommodate your academic commitments. The position is scheduled for the Fall 2026 semester, with potential for extension based on business needs.
What you'll do#
- Process and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system.
- Review, verify, and code invoices to meet company policies and procedures.
- Reconcile invoice and payment data to ensure accuracy.
- Scan and upload payment batches and supporting documents into the retrieval system.
- Assist the accounting team with administrative projects.
- Support departmental efforts to maintain internal controls and record retention.
- Apply your knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping to daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- Completion of at least two years of study (sophomore standing or higher).
- A degree path in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in data entry and general computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
