About the role#
Markel is seeking motivated students for the 2027 IT Internship Program. This program offers hands-on experience supporting technology initiatives within a Fortune 500 company. Interns will work across various areas, including IT support services, API management, DevOps, data services, and insurance technology. This is a paid, full-time summer opportunity located in Richmond, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with experienced professionals on technology initiatives.

- Work on strategic initiatives and understand how individual deliverables fit into the broader roadmap.

What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Location & details#
- Location: Richmond, VA (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Pay: $24.00 - $28.50 per hour.
