About the role#
Markel is seeking Actuarial Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in either Richmond, Virginia, or Omaha, Nebraska. You will join our Actuarial department to gain hands-on experience with real-world operations in a global insurance company. This position requires US work authorization, as sponsorship is not available.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate directly with experienced actuaries.
- Contribute to meaningful projects that drive business decisions.
- Work on high-value projects with clear deliverables and deadlines.
- Gain exposure to pricing, reserving, or actuarial operations.
What you'll need#
- College junior graduating in May 2028 or a recent graduate.
- Major in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Proven leadership, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data tools and technology.
- Enthusiasm for the property and casualty insurance industry.

- Pay: $24 to $28.50 per hour.
