About the role#
AMERISAFE is looking for an IT Intern to join our team in DeRidder, Louisiana. This is a part-time, temporary role focused on the maintenance and support of our computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. You will help ensure our hardware and software remain in good working order while assisting with end user support.
What you'll do#
- Diagnose and fix equipment failures and malfunctions.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware and software.
- Maintain computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
- Service copiers and printers, including replacing toners, rollers, and fuser assemblies.
- Document all support activities accurately according to company policies.
- Support IT teams in troubleshooting problems with both new and legacy software systems.
- Assist senior development staff with their daily objectives.
- Collaborate with various IT teams to produce software products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate or bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
- Ability to assemble and configure computers and peripherals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with hardware or software troubleshooting is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow technical and procedural documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A customer-service orientation and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in DeRidder, Louisiana.
- This is a paid, part-time internship with a rolling term.
- Employment is contingent upon the completion of a pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check and a 10-panel drug test.
