About the role#
This position is part of the Logistics & Storage Engineering team within MPLX. You will manage a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from small maintenance tasks to large developments. You will guide these projects through the five phases of the Marathon Project Management Process, which include conceptual, feasibility, definition, implementation, and start-up or close-out.
What you'll do#
- Manage and implement a portfolio of projects while supporting multiple assignments of varying complexity simultaneously.
- Collaborate with internal departments to review resource estimates, schedules, and safety impacts.
- Support detailed design and technical reviews to ensure compliance with corporate engineering standards.
- Prepare bid requests for material, labor, and equipment while evaluating proposals based on engineering and business principles.
- Act as a safety leader by conducting project safety meetings and participating in safety reviews such as HAZOPs, PHAs, and PSSRs.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and optimize processes using sound engineering practices.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027.
- Successful completion of a prior Marathon Petroleum internship or co-op.
- Strong academic performance.
- Zero to three years of related experience.
- A valid driver's license for work-related travel.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

- Locations: Findlay, Ohio; La Palma, California; Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Travel: Up to 25-35% of the time, including overnight travel.
