About the role#
This internship provides support to the food services team by assisting with meal preparation and maintaining sanitation standards. Interns work under the direction of the food services supervisor to ensure operations comply with government and management directives. This role requires reliability and availability to work evenings and some weekends.
What you'll do#
- Assist cooks and cook helpers with the preparation of student meals.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in food preparation, storage, and dish room areas to maintain health standards.
- Transfer merchandise and ingredients to cooking areas as instructed.
- Maintain the student snack bar and clean the outside area of the Admin Building.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current Job Corps student.
- Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possession of a student card is required.
- Current enrollment in the Culinary Arts program is preferred.
