About the role#
The HVAC Design & Product Engineering Intern reports to the Head of AC Design. This position focuses on learning MAHLE systems and supporting product engineering tasks. You will gain exposure to HVAC module design through quality documentation and hands-on testing. The role requires travel to manufacturing plants or customer sites when opportunities arise.
What you'll do#
- Use MAHLE systems to manage engineering tasks, including VAMAS requests and test setups.
- Analyze test data and write reports for management review.
- Study HVAC module design, specifically drawings, DFMEA, and DRBFM.
- Run HVAC module level tests.
- Apply 1st order CFD tools to optimize HVAC module designs.
- Participate in team problem-solving initiatives using methods like 5 Whys, fish bone diagrams, and fault trees.
- Assist with tasks at manufacturing plants and customer sites.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Open to students from Freshman level and up.
- Experience with CAD, CAE, and validation testing.
- Ability to perform analysis and create reports.
- Relevant coursework or previous internship experience.
